Tucked Detail£795

What the £795 Tucked Detail includes

  • Safe Wash
  • Full Decontamination
  • Multi Stage Machine Polish
  • 7 Year Ceramic Coating
  • Alloy Faces and All Glass Coated
  • Interior Deep Clean
  • Interior Trims Coated
  • Tucked Valets Protection Guarantee

The Tucked Detail is our top package, fixed at £795 for the whole job. It opens with a safe wash and full decontamination to pull bonded grime, tar and fallout off the paint, so the machine polisher works on a clean surface instead of grinding dirt across it. Then comes the multi stage machine polish, which is where most of the work goes. Once the paint is corrected, a 7-year ceramic coating goes on to lock the finish in. The alloy faces and all the glass are coated as well, the interior trims are coated too, and the inside of the car gets a deep clean at the same time. Every Tucked Detail is backed by the Tucked Valets Protection Guarantee.

Single stage vs multi stage, in plain English

People often ask what the difference is between our £595 package and the £795 Tucked Detail. It comes down to how many polishing stages the paint gets. A single stage polish, the one in the £595 Protection Package, makes one pass to lift light swirls and bring the gloss back up. It is a proper step up from tired paint, and it is the right call when the finish is only lightly marked.

A multi stage correction works through more than one pass. There are cutting stages that go after the heavier defects, then finishing stages that refine the paint afterwards. That is what reaches deeper swirls, holograms and oxidation a single pass will not touch. It takes more stages and more time, and it removes more than one pass can.

What paint correction actually fixes

Paint correction machines the very top of your clear coat to take out the marks sitting in it. The usual culprit is swirl marks, the fine circular scratches you catch in low sun. They come from years of automatic car washes and dirty sponges dragging grit over the paint. Correction also deals with buffer holograms, the hazy trails left behind by careless machine work, and dull, oxidised paint that has gone flat and lost its depth.

Where we are straight with you is the limit. A deep scratch that has gone through the clear coat and into the colour underneath is not something polishing can fix, because there is no clear coat left to level out. A rough guide: if your nail catches in a scratch, it is usually too deep to polish all the way out. We will tell you what we can and cannot lift before we start, so there are no surprises on the day.

Why it pairs with a coating

There is a reason we correct and then coat in the same visit. Once the paint is corrected it looks as good as that paintwork is going to look, and a ceramic coating seals that finish in so it stays that way. Leave it bare and the corrected paint is straight back to picking up swirls the next time it is washed. Coat it, and the 7-year ceramic coating gives a slick, hard surface that repels water and grime and holds the gloss for years. Correcting first and coating second is the order that makes the work last.

What you get for £795

For £795 you get a multi stage correction, a 7-year ceramic coating, coated alloys and glass, coated interior trims and an interior deep clean, all done on your own driveway. It is worth getting a few quotes and reading what each one actually includes. A lower price can look better until you notice the coating is shorter, the polish is a single pass, or the interior is left out. We would rather show you exactly what the £795 covers and let you compare it for yourself.

Keeping corrected paint corrected

Corrected paint stays that way when it is washed properly. Automatic washes and dirty sponges are what put the swirls there in the first place, so a safe hand wash is what keeps them out. A careful two bucket wash at home protects the finish you paid for. If you would rather not think about it, our £80 maintenance scheme keeps corrected cars looking right with a regular paint safe wash. The maintenance package runs on the scheme only, so it is the way to keep that finish topped up between details.
